Delivering Earned Value Management with the Microsoft Office Project Management Solution

On May 10, 2006, The Boston Chapter of MPA (Official Industry Association for Microsoft Project) will be holding a spring membership meeting.  MPA has teamed with Project Solutions Group, Inc. for an evening of insight into how MS Project can be leveraged to support Earned Value Management as well as Microsoft’s solution to Earned Value Management (EVM).

The core objective of project management is to facilitate the completion of projects within cost, schedule and scope constraints.  This objective translates universally to all projects regardless of contract type, size or complexity.  Poor planning, scope creep, ineffective risk management and the lack of visibility into project status and overall health contribute greatly to these project failure statistics.  With ongoing and increasing pressure to justify spending and avoid costly project overruns, many organizations are adopting Earned Value Management as a project management technique.

This interactive session will focus on outlining some best-practices and tools and techniques that organizations can leverage to better manage project schedules, costs and resources as well as provide attendees with practical guidance and actionable steps for deploying solutions that will support better management of project schedules, resources and EVM compliance.
